PTS Series Enclosure Is Made from Polycarbonate Reinforced with 10 Percent Fiberglass

Bud Industries, a leading manufacturer of electronic enclosures, has introduced the PTS Series enclosure, made of highly impact-resistant gray polycarbonate reinforced with 10 percent fiberglass. This combination offers a rugged and long-lasting protection alternative to costlier metal enclosures, and it offers an option for a clear plastic cover.

The IP67 rating combined with a continuous foam gasket provides an affordable solution for housing sensitive equipment in hazardous, dusty, and washdown factory environments, as well as in wet outdoor locations with extreme weather conditions. In addition to IP67, the series is rated UL508, NEMA Type 4X, and Type 6.

Application environments include chemical plants, pulp/paper mills, corrosive environments, and powder/dust processing environments. The enclosure is exceptionally well suited for housing access controls, lighting, control boxes, WiFi and radio housings. The boxes are also non-chlorinated and non-brominated flame retardant with a UL-94 5VA rating. Additionally, the PTS series is RoHs compliant.

The new enclosure is available in 15 sizes ranging from 2.56 inches x 1.97 inches x 2.17 inches to 22.05 inches x 11.02 inches x 5.12 inches. The cover attaches with non-metallic screws.

The PTS Series expands Bud’s already existing line of fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate boxes, which includes the PIP and the PTQ Series of NEMA IP67 rated enclosures.
