New NEMA 3r Raises Bar on Protection

Published on: June 8, 2012 by Blair Haas

Have you ever driven down the road and noticed the boxes at an intersection that have the little “roof” on them?  They typically house some sort of traffic or light control and you now see them everywhere.  These are NEMA 3R enclosures and are designed to be used outside and to repel rain, sleet and ice (thus the overhang).  Bud is proud to introduce a new line of these enclosures, our N3R series.  This line of NEMA boxes should be in stock in two weeks (week of June 22) and will have a number of great features.  They are also priced well below competition, providing an edge for those who are looking to spec in from 1-1,000.

These powder coated galvanized steel boxes are spotwelded and have a drip shielded top and seam-free sides, back and front.  The cover comes with a weather resitatn neoprene gasket.  A bonus feature is the easily removable concentric knockouts on the bottom that meet industry standard conduit sizes.  It also comes with an internal zinc plated steel panel at no extra cost.  Check them out on our website at https://budind.com/series/nema-ip-rated-boxes/3r-series-metal-boxes/#group=series-products&external_dimensions_group=0&internal_dimensions=0.
