Last week at ECIA’s Electronic Distribution Show (EDS) in Las Vegas, Bud Industries was proud to present DigiKey with our 2025 Modification Success Award, recognizing DigiKey’s outstanding growth and partnership in modified enclosure solutions.
DigiKey earned the award by delivering exceptional performance in Bud’s modified parts business throughout the 2025 calendar year. With a strong focus on helping customers find custom and modified solutions, DigiKey grew its modified business with Bud by 52.9%. DigiKey also sold the highest number of modified Bud parts and achieved the highest total value of modified sales in 2025.
“The team at DigiKey has streamlined the process to make it easy for Bud to refer Modified business to them, and DigiKey has the system in place to partner with the OEMs to avoid additional delays,” said Josiah Haas, President of Bud Industries.
This marks the second time in the past three years that DigiKey has received Bud’s Modification Success Award, underscoring the strength of the relationship between the two companies and the shared commitment to helping customers get enclosure solutions that are ready for their application.
“Our reps and Estimation team just feel comfortable working with Steve Dahl and the custom team at DigiKey,” Haas continued. “It is all about ease of doing business.”
For customers, the value of buying a modified Bud enclosure through distribution is simple: it helps streamline the supply chain while reducing risk. Instead of purchasing a standard box and sending it to an outside job shop and dealing with courier shipments or attempting modifying the boxes in-house and risking scrapped parts, customers can work through distribution to receive an enclosure modified correctly the first time.

Bud’s modification capabilities help customers move faster from design to installation. Modifications can include holes and cutouts, tapping, welding brackets, installing PEMs, pre-assembly, digital printing, silk screening, custom powder coated colors, shielding and special packaging. Bud’s Modifications Program supports simple modifications on most in-stock enclosures, helping customers get the exact enclosure they need with speed, consistency and confidence. Our 5-day modification program for simple cutouts helps get our boxes to market at an industry leading speed. As a growing segment of Bud’s overall business, custom and modified product represent over 40% of our overall enclosure and rack sales.
DigiKey’s recognition from Bud was part of a broader celebration at EDS, where DigiKey received 29 supplier awards honoring excellence in distribution, growth, and performance.
“DigiKey is honored to receive these prestigious industry recognitions from our valued supplier partners,” said Mike Slater, vice president of global business development for DigiKey. “Working together with these outstanding organizations, we help ensure engineers, designers and makers receive the innovative products and tools they need to accelerate progress around the world.”
Bud Industries congratulates DigiKey on this well-earned recognition and thanks the DigiKey team for their continued partnership, customer focus and commitment to making modified enclosure solutions easier to buy.
