Blair Haas joined Bud Industries, a leading manufacturer of enclosures for the electronics and data industries, more than 50 years ago. He became its president in 1992 and now serves as its CEO. Blair represents the third generation of this nearly century-old business.
He has extensive experience in the electronics industry and is considered a leading expert on enclosures. Blair first became active in industry associations more than 40 years ago when he was asked to join the board of the EIA (Electronic Industry Association). At the same time, he was elected to the board of EDS (the Electronic Distribution Show), eventually becoming chairman in 1992. He joined the executive committee of the EIA and was a part of the committee that led to its decision to spin off its various sectors and helped create the ECA (Electronic Components Association), which is the predecessor of ECIA (Electronic Components Industry Association). He chaired ECA twice and was on the committee that led to the merger of ECA and NEDA that created ECIA. He has served on the Board of ECIA since its creation and on its executive committee, as well as serving as chair from 2015 to 2016. He also served on its nominating committee and led its first strategic planning committee, investment committee, and finance committee. He received the ECIA North Star Award in recognition of his years of leadership. He also co-founded the Electronic Distribution Industry Council.

A lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, he has served the community in a variety of capacities including chairman of the board of the Cleveland Music School Settlement and vice-president of the Jewish Family Service. He is currently a vice president of the board of the Hawken School. Blair received his BA at Hamilton College and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
